GTKYE Holiday Edition: Kasia

Opinions Editor Kasia Fejklowicz spent her break working at the Christkindlmarket at the Daley Plaza. The long hours and the cold forced her to wear many layers which made her look like a hobo. Unfortunately, she ended up seeing people from her high school and DePaul.

ξ
Working with ornaments for Kasia was very stressful considering the fact that she is terribly clumsy and everything seems to slip from her hands. She broke some of the expensive, mouth-blown and hand painted glass ornaments but quickly threw away any evidence so her bosses would not see.
ξ
It was her first time being a salesperson and Kasia enjoyed helping customers and meeting new people. She was also able to practice her second language, Polish, with her new co-workers.
ξ
Now, Kasia is back home in Wauconda with her mother and brother. She is looking forward to Wigilia, which is Christmas Eve, for Polish people.  Kasia and her mother are going to prepare 12 different dishes for their family and all of them will be meat-free (which is a wonderful thing since Kasia has been a vegetarian for five years). After dinner, everyone will open presents and go to mass at midnight. On Christmas Day, Kasia plans to eat a lot of Polish desserts and candy.
ξ
Kasia is very excited to go back to school again because the sooner it starts the sooner she will graduate.
