Ethnic dance lesson and performance at The Old School of Folk Music

The Old Town School of Folk Music in Lincoln Square hosts a myriad of events showcasing various cultures from all around the world where the audience is not just an observer, but an active participant.

Their Global Dance Party series, held every Friday, will be hosting Orkestar Verea and Ethnic Dance Chicago Friday, March 29 at 8:30 p.m. You will be able to partake in a Bulgarian ‘horo’, or circle dancing, lesson taught by Ethnic Dance Chicago which will be followed by a two hour live performance by the Bulgarian ensemble Orkestar Verea.

This is a perfect opportunity to explore a different culture from your own and experience Balkan folk dancing which may, or may not, have been on your to-do list, but is an adventure nonetheless. The event will be held in the Myron R. Szold Music & Dance Hall at 4545 N. Lincoln Avenue. Tickets are $10 and can be bought here.
