UPDATED: Students robbed near quad

Four individuals were victims of the robberies that occurred near the quad Monday, Sept 30. Three victims had property grabbed from them while the other victim was tripped and pushed to the ground suffering minor injuries, Director of Public Safety Bob Wachowski said.

The incidents began around 11:10 a.m. taking place at high-traffic areas on the Lincoln Park campus at a time when many students are going from class to class.

The incidents occurred at the 2300 block of Sheffield, the 2300 block of Kenmore and the 1000 block of Fullerton. The initial Public Safety Alert sent Monday afternoon indicated there were three victims and that the incident took place “on Fullerton Avenue near the DePaul Quad.”

Public Safety and the Chicago Police Department detained six offenders. Four offenders were taken into custody by police and the other two were released on the scene, Wachowski said.
