DePaul professor Valerie Johnson is clearly retarded, if she saw Martin, who happened to be the attacker, as an innocent victim.

    ( QUOTE )
It must be made clear, however, that this movement is more than just about issues of police brutality, Johnson said.

“Police terrorism is not the totality of what state violence looks like,” she said. “It is a tangible and palpable part of state violence; food deserts; that’s violence, poverty, that’s violence; homelessness, that’s violence.” ( end quote )

Can anyone translate this into English? What does food deserts have to do with the article?

Many things matter in life. Good parenting ( mother and father when possible ) matters, getting a good education should matter, work ( job opportunity ) matters, and yes a fair and equal justice system. It is not just one race, but rather those less than rich which can come up short in the judicial system. Better training of police matters. Not being a victim of gang violence should matter. Being a good member of society, and not engaging in criminal activity matters. Not abusing others, or your own body matters. It all matters.

As for the economic side of current woes, it is a hard road we are on in the middle class. Things have slid since the beginning of the Reagan era, with little more than a drop of that trickle reaching the lower levels. I am sorry to say, it is mostly representatives of corporate and the 1% rather than we the people of which are heard. Should be interesting to see what happens come election time – what will the people’s vote be, and then if any bit of what was promised comes true. Hopefully America will be great again. We have it pretty good however today, when compared to the rest of the World. Never sell the USA short. And there are many good people here and all around this globe. Lives matter, so improve them. Set your children on the right course. Set the highest standards for quality law enforcement officers – pay them well – respect their concerns and pressures, and do keep an eye on fair justice – even justice.
