DePaul Blue Demon sophomore guard Kelly Campbell rang in the New Year with a Big East Player of the Week award.

In two DePaul wins last week, Campbell averaged a triple-double with 10.5 points, 12 rebounds and ten assists.

On Thursday against Seton Hall, Campbell poured in 11 points, grabbed 12 rebounds and dished out 11 assists to help the Blue Demons down the Pirates 89-66. On Saturday, Campbell just missed another triple-double when she scored ten points, collected 12 rebounds and distributed nine assists in a 76-67 win against St. John’s. If she would have notched one more assist in the game, she would have been the first player in Big East history to record a triple-double in back-to-back games.

Campbell has stuffed the stat sheet all season, holding averages of 10.7 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 6.1 assists through 14 games. She is fifth in the Big East Conference in rebounding, second in assists, and 27th in scoring average.

Campbell and the Blue Demons return to action on Thursday at Marquette as both teams will look to keep their conference records unblemished in a battle of Big East heavyweights.
