The Big East Weekly Honor Roll for track and field is littered with DePaul athletes after the Blue Demons posted a solid team performance at the Notre Dame Invitational on Saturday.

Freshman Kiersten Walker earned Big East Women’s Track Athlete of the Week honors after breaking the school record in the indoor 400-meter run with a time of 55.23 (previous record was 55.83 by Lindsey Holden in 2011). She finished in first place in this event and also ran a personal-best time of 24.63 in the 200-meter dash to finish in second place.

Walker has the fastest time in the Big East this season in the 400-meter dash and is second in the conference in the 200-meter dash.

Junior Brian Mada earned Big East Men’s Field Athlete of the Week honors. He broke the school record in the indoor triple jump with a leap of 15.58 meters to take home first place at the Notre Dame Invitational. He also jumped 7.18 meters in the long jump at Notre Dame to capture fourth place. Mada is the defending triple jump champion in both the indoor and outdoor Big East Championships.

Mada leads the Big East in both the long jump and the triple jump.

Finally, senior Sebastian Feyersinger won Big East Men’s Track Athlete of the Week honors after winning the 200-meter dash at the Notre Dame Invitational with a time of 21.83 and finishing fourth in the 400-meter dash with a time of 48.60. He has the fastest time in both events in the Big East this season. He also ran the anchor leg on the Blue Demon’s 4 X 400-meter relay that finished in third place at Notre Dame. Feyersinger is a ten-time Big East Champion.

The Blue Demon track and field team returns to action Feb. 2 at the Meyo Invitational at Notre Dame.
