2012 USA Olympic Swim Team ‘Call Me Maybe’ video

The 2012 USA Olympic swim team has become yet another group of athletes to parody Carly Rae Jepsen’s hit single “Call Me Maybe,” joining the likes of Harvard baseball (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eEWVwgDnuzE) and SMU women’s crew (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K7ppxF4O130).

The video, garnering over 300,000 views in a day, features USA swimming standouts like Michael Phelps, Ryan Lochte and Missy Franklin all beaming as they lip-synch and nod their heads to the catchy tune. Just goes to show athletes can have a little fun in between workouts and preparations for competition.

The 2012 London Olympics kick off tonight at 6:30 p.m. CT on NBC with the Games’ Opening Ceremony, while the first night of swimming finals begins Saturday, June 28 and includes the men’s and women’s 400 IM events.
