DePaul forward Rashuan Stimage will be out 8-10 weeks after suffering a fracture in his left foot in Saturday’s “Blue-White” inter-squad scrimmage.

Stimage, a junior, said he has a “Jones fracture,” which is a broken bone at the base of the small toe — the same injury that Oklahoma City Thunder star Kevin Durant has. The injury will require surgery, which Stimage will undergo Wednesday.

Stimage, who is a transfer from the junior college Daytona State College, suffered the injury when during an inbounds play, a teammate landed on his foot diving for the ball.

“It’s just shocking, really,” Stimage said. “It really hurts because I was ready to come out strong in my first year at the university. Hopefully, I’ll come back better than ever.”

The 6-foot-8 forward said he hopes he can return in seven or eight weeks, rather than the estimated timetable of 8-10 weeks.

“It’s just overwhelming really,” Stimage said. “I’m just trying to get back on the court as soon as possible.”

Stimage averaged 13. 9 points and 7.2 rebounds per game at Daytona State last season. Stimage, a native of Chicago, attended Farragut high school and was regarded one of the top high school players in the city.
