DePaul men’s basketball released their 2015-16 non-conference schedule Wednesday, with Stanford, Penn State, and South Carolina highlighting the table.
The Blue Demons will open their slate with a bout against Western Michigan on Nov. 14 at McGrath Phillips Arena. With the women’s team participating in the preseason Women’s National Invitational Tournament, there will not be a double-header season opener like in previous seasons.
After the opener, the Blue Demons will go to University Park, PA, to take on Penn State as part of the Gavitt Tipoff Games series, a series between Big East and Big Ten schools. The road trip continues for DePaul as they head to the U.S. Virgin Islands for the Paradise Jam Classic Thanksgiving weekend. They will open with South Carolina on Nov. 20 and will either play Hofstra or Florida State in the next game depending on the results of the first days.
The other teams participating in the tournament include Norfolk State, Indiana State, Tulsa and Ohio.
DePaul returns to Chicago Dec. 2 for an away game against the University of Illinois-Chicago before making their 2015-16 Allstate Arena debut against Chicago State on Dec. 5. They head to Des Moines for the second leg of their home-and-home series with Drake on Dec. 9. DePaul won the first set last year at Allstate Arena.
The Blue Demons will play another rare game at McGrath Phillips Arena when they take on Little Rock Dec. 12, before heading to Stanford Dec. 15. The Blue Demons’ win over Stanford in 2014-15 was one of the season’s highlights.
They will close out the non-conference schedule with two home games, first against intra-city rival Northwestern on Dec. 19, and then they will host George Washington Dec. 22. From there, they will embark on their Big East schedule, which is yet to be released.
