The Big East released its 2015-16 schedule Tuesday afternoon, giving DePaul men’s basketball the remainder of their schedule as well as television assignments.
The Blue Demons will open their conference schedule with Georgetown on Dec. 30. This will also be their conference home opener, taking on the Hoyas at 8 p.m. at the Allstate Arena. They then go to Seton Hall for their first road game as part of the New Years Day marathon on Jan. 2 at 10 a.m.
DePaul will play rival Marquette on Jan 27 in Milwaukee and host the Golden Eagles Feb. 20. They will close the regular season with a home game against Seton Hall on March 6, coming off a two-game road trip playing at Providence on Feb. 27 and Villanova on March 1. From there, they will play in the Big East tournament, where they were bounced in the first round by Creighton last year.
The Blue Demons went 6-12 in the Big East in 2014-15. They won the first three to take a conference lead before faltering and ending the season on an eight-game losing streak. They went 12-20 overall in Oliver Purnell’s final season, making way for new head coach Dave Leitao’s first campaign in 2015-16. They open their non-conference season with an exhibition against Caldwell Nov. 7 before their first real game Nov. 14 against Western Michigan.
Every conference game will be televised with the majority of games broadcasting on Fox Sports 1 with a select few on CBS Sports Network.
