The Blue Demons big fellow from Croatia has earned himself a Big East Honor Roll designation.

During a week where the Blue Demons finished 1-1, graduate senior center Marin Maric averaged 20.5 points per game on 68.2 percent from the field and pulled down 7.5 rebounds to earn this designation for the second time this season.

In the Blue Demons 76-75 loss against the Creighton Bluejays on Wednesday, Maric scored a team-high 23 points on 10-for-16 from the field. In an 80-63 win against the Providence Friars on Saturday, Maric buried 18 points on 5-for-6 from the field. He did most of his damage from the charity stripe, hitting all eight of his free-throw attempts.

Maric has quietly been one of the Blue Demons most consistent players this season, as he continues to lead DePaul in player efficiency rating (21.9), true-shooting percentage (62.7 percent), and is second on the team with 2.3 win shares this season (minimum 100 minutes played).

Maric and the Blue Demons return to action on Wednesday evening when they battle a suddenly red-hot St. John’s team at Wintrust Arena.  Tipoff is at 8 p.m.
