The 44th annual Sheffield Garden Walk and Festival: photos

The 44th annual Sheffield Garden Walk and Festival took place July 21-22. Hosted by the Sheffield Neighborhood Association and DePaul community, this weekend fest was a success yet again.

Neighbors and out-of-towners walked the streets to take in more than 80 gardens on display and tour the area.

Festival-goers also stuck around for the many musical acts from bands including Gomez and School of Rock who performed in the parking lot outside the Lincoln Park Student Center.

The 2012 Garden Walk was a fun family event.

Even Chicago’s Finest were there having a good time. Here, they pose with attendees to the festivities.

There were live music performances throughout the day.

The true subject of the event: Sheffield Gardens.

A beautiful garden.

St. Vincent DePaul Church staff enjoyed the festivities from the rectory’s balcony.

The streets were blocked off from Belden and Sheffield to Webster for food, games, and music.

Many neighborhood residents made their own fun on the sidewalks. Here, a game of bags, or corn hole, is underway.

Residents gathered in front yards, gangways, and front porches/stoops to celebrate the 2012 Sheffield Garden Walk.

In years past, the Sheffield Garden walk has been cause for some rowdy times. The Sheffield Neighborhood Association posted these warnings around the area.
