Punk band Iceage headlines Chicago June 21

Danish post-punk band Iceage takes the stage Thursday, June 21 at Chicago’s House of Vans. This year, the Vans House Parties series implemented a strategy with a more personal touch – providing headliners the opportunity to act as curators, hand-picking the supporting talent. With an on-site personalized visual art experience for attendees and at least one unsigned act to kick the night off, this showcase ought to pack the West Loop full of anticipating fans.

Open to attendees 18+, the lineup consists of Iceage, garage rock band The Black Lips, harpist Mary Lattimore, and experimental punk locals Torture Love.

Performing in Chicago all the way from Copenhagen, the punk quartet released their fourth album “Beyondless” May 4 via Matador Records. Tying in tones of liveliness and joy through the addition of horns and strings, tracks such as “Pain Killer” and “Catch it” have enticing hooks that reel in anyone’s attention.

Taking a break from touring restlessly, the band sought for their next work to come naturally and showcase a more developed version of themselves. “Beyondless” is Iceage’s best work yet, telling tales of beauty, lust, and violence with unique vocals and dramatic instruments.
