All three players are forwards, which leaves DePaul with a dearth at big man depth going into the 2016-17 season. None of the three players factored much into DePaul’s season, as all of them averaged three minutes or less in 2015-16. What it does for DePaul’s roster is it leaves three open scholarship spots and four open roster spots.
Phillips and Berry were originally recruited by former DePaul head coach Oliver Purnell and they committed to DePaul before he resigned in March, 2015. Current head coach Dave Leitao recruited Scott late in the spring recruiting season in 2015.
