Legislation making parents and guardians of underage teens who consume alcohol in their homes more accountable is one of more than 200 new laws will go into effect in Illinois come Jan. 1, 2015. Other new laws include a pregnancy rights bill that requires employers to provide reasonable accommodations for all working pregnant women unless the accommodation would impose an undue hardship on the business, and a bill that requires law enforcement agencies to provide bulletproof vests for officers.
