On June 27, animals and humans came together to celebrate at Woofstock: Road to Puppy Bowl. Animal Planet hosted the event which was held at Stadium Green at Soldier Field, which was described on the PAWS Chicago website as “a free festival celebrating pet adoption with dozens of dogs, kittens and puppies available for adoption from PAWS Chicago.”
Although the dogs and cats hoping to be adopted were the main attraction at the event, it was hosted by Eugene Mirman of “Bob’s Burgers,” and featured live music from Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, The Suffers and JC Brooks & The Uptown Sound.
Animal Planet also brought Lil Bub and Manny the Frenchie, respectively a cat and a dog, famous for their internet presence to the event, in addition to hosting a reenactment of the Puppy Bowl and food and drinks courtesy of Lagunitas and a wide array of food trucks.
The festival also featured an attempt to break the world record for the most adopted dogs and their owners in one place, which is still at 250.
