After the release of a police video showing an officer fatally shooting 17-year-old Laquan McDonald, protesters marched through downtown Chicago late Tuesday. The dash-cam footage shows the officer, Jason Van Dyke, firing 16 times at the teenager last year. Van Dyke was charged with first-degree murder earlier Tuesday.

In response, groups of protesters stood against police brutality and in remembrance of McDonald in protests described as mostly calm and peaceful.
