Endy’s efforts rewarded with Track Athlete of the Week designation

DePaul Blue Demon track and field athlete Elizabeth Endy has earned Big East Track Athlete of the Week honors the conference announced on Tuesday.

Not bad for a student athlete navigating her first year of track and field at the collegiate level after playing on the Blue Demon women’s soccer team for four seasons.

Endy has improved her 800-meter time the last three times she has ran the distance, culminating with a 2:08.40 performance at the Alex Wilson Invitational at Notre Dame last weekend which earned her first place in the race. She has the fifth-fastest time in the conference this season in this event.

The success doesn’t come out nowhere as Endy was a track and field star in high school. She finished her prep days with a personal-best time of 2:11.23 in the 800-meter run and 55.95 in the 400-meter run and was a five-time state champion in Minnesota.

Next on the docket, Endy and her Blue Demon teammates head to Staten Island, N.Y. this weekend to compete in the 2018 Big East Indoor Track and Field Championships.
