The Lewis Center automatic elevators are now operating as of 9:41 p.m. according to an email by Vice President of Facility Operations Bob Janis.
Service problems were first announced at 9:04 a.m. Facility operations found that the primary circuit boards, which normally regulate the elevators to readily respond to floor button calls, need to be replaced.
These circuit boards will be replaced within a few days. Meanwhile, Facility Operations staff plan to manually operate all Lewis elevators to transport people between floors.
If elevator response time is slower than normal, Facility Operations encourages people to use the elevators or alternate means (such as stairwells) until work is completed.
