The rumors have already begun for this year’s Lollapalooza roster. A leaked headliner list has made its way online and includes bands such as The Cure, Jay-Z, and recent Grammy winners Mumford and Sons. How official the list is remains to be seen.
Brooklyn Vegan Chicago posted the list earlier this week. The list also includes bands such as How To Destroy Angels (Trent Reznor’s latest project), Skrillex, Purity Ring, and last year’s Mercury prize winning band Alt-J. However the biggest name on the list has to be shoegaze forefathers My Bloody Valentine.
My Bloody Valentine shocked the music world a few weeks ago after finally releasing their new album after a 21 year wait. They have already begun touring this year and there’s a good chance they’ll be expanding that tour to include a few festivals.
If that’s the case, be sure to get your tickets as early as you can. After the band’s new album was released online the servers flat lined for a good two hours from the amount of people trying to make a purchase.
This year’s Lolla will take place August 2-4. Expect an official roster announcement sometime in the spring.
