Chances are that if you’ve gone to any local show the past few months that you’ve probably heard a great opening set or two from DJ Peroxide. The guy’s specialty isn’t stereotypical dance music but dark brooding post punk, industrial rock, shoe gaze, and everything in between. He’s the kind of guy whose stuff makes people stop talking mid conversation so they can go ask what song is currently playing.
This Friday Peroxide will be teaming up with Scary Lady Sarahat Shimmer, a monthly event dedicated to dancing and all things glitter. The two will be playing an eclectic mix of shoegaze, dreampop, psych, drone, ethereal, space rock, nugaze, electrogaze & chillwave.
Shimmer will take place at Northland Tavern, 1610 W. North Avenue. Show starts at 9 p.m. and goes on till 2 a.m. Entry is free as long as you make it in by 10 p.m., otherwise it is $5. Event is +21. More info at the Facebook page.
