The Little Queer Film Festival is coming to the Center on Halsted for an all-day event Saturday, Feb. 2.
The Little Queer Film Festival, or LQFF, is a not-for-profit organization that screens queer films in settings where patrons can meet and share food or have a cocktail, in the hopes that it will not only build a community of friends and artists, but help to make these independent films available to the general public.
The festival will showcase films with an LGBTQA and human rights theme. LQFF is featuring “Call Me Kuchu,” “Kiss Me,” and “Facing Mirrors” in their lineup as well as a guest speaker from the Human Rights Campaign Illinois Chapter.
Patrons will get to experience a global perspective from the documentary and two dramas set in the UK, Sweden and Iran. The films deal with a wide array of topics and issues, from Uganda’s homophobic laws, to Lesbianism and family, as well as Transsexuality and tradition. Tickets are available online at http://www.littlequeerfilmfest.org/programs/ and at the door.
The event runs from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
