Hi! My name is Shannon Shreibak. I am a sophomore and I am the Weekend Edition Editor.
I wanted to be the Weekend Edition Editor because I love writing about arts and culture and think that the Weekend Edition showcases it well in an accessible format.
When I’m not in school or working on the paper, my hobbies include working as Music Director at Radio DePaul, freelancing for music publications, and playing my guitar.
On a Saturday night you’ll find me going to concerts with my friends, followed by a run to Pick Me Up Caf’ÛΩ, of course.
My favorite thing about DePaul is that everyone I meet here teaches me something about myself and the world around me.
The best class I’ve taken so far is Pam Ferdinand’s Intro to Journalism class because it was the most challenging and stressful class I’ve ever had, but it reinforced my decision to pursue journalism, and I gained invaluable real-world experience.
I love eating hummus and pita chips while watching Rolling Stones and Fleetwood Mac concert DVDs.
I’m secretly obsessed with collecting coffee mugs and gig posters.
You can’t take me away from my notebook; I always have it with me.
This summer I’ve been reporting for the DePaulia, rebooting my blog, moving into my first apartment, and going to lots of concerts!
I can’t wait for the school year to begin because all my friends and I can pick up right where we left off.
