When speaking to the media before a matchup against Georgetown, head coach Chris Holtmann said junior forward Jeremy Lorenz “is expected to be out for a while” with a hip injury.
“He’ll have a decision to make regarding surgery,” Holtmann said. “We’ll have information on that here as we move forward.”
Holtmann first brought up the possibility of surgery when speaking to the media before the game against Villanova on Dec. 31, where he said, “I think at this point, it looks like it’s trending towards he’s going to want to have season-ending surgery.”
Lorenz has played nine games for the Blue Demons this season after transferring from Wofford. He last played against St. John’s on Dec. 16. He is averaging 2.2 points, 1.8 rebounds and one assist per game this season on 60% shooting.
Lorenz is one of the four players listed as a forward on the roster, excluding Isaiah Medina and Jonas Johnson, who are both redshirting this season.
