St. Patrick’s Day DeJamz to get in the Celtic spirit

For me, St. Patrick’s Day is the one day a year I get to hear traditional Irish music pouring out of open pub doors and grab a pint of Guinness at every street corner. It’s the one time I get to live my Irish party girl dreams as an American kid from Texas. So queue up your annual rewatch of “Derry Girls,” stock up on lucky green socks and tuck in to this Irish-themed DeJamz. And make sure to have a drink for me!

“Rocky Road to Dublin”

Set the tone for Irish celebration and heritage with a recognizable and unequivocal banger. Check out the version from the “Sinners” soundtrack for another epic version of this classic Irish folk tune I would kill to hear floating from a crowded pub near midnight in the Irish capital.

"Killeagh"- Kingfishr

Kingfishr perfectly captures the adoration and longing for an Ireland that always seems to exist only in fiction. The first couple times I heard this song I genuinely cried; it feels like a eulogy to the passion and fearlessness of childhood that died off when worldly reality set in.

“Dúlaman” - Celtic Woman

You can’t have Irish music for St. Patty’s without some Celtic Woman, and this traditional folk song sung in Gaeilge was one of my first introductions to the native language of Ireland and its vast reach into the past.

“Rattlin’ Bog” - The Irish Descendants

Rounding out the legendary party vibes of St. Patty’s is this classic pub song and drinking game all in one — if you can actually down your pint during the refrain, I want to be your friend.
