Forgive me for opening with a song where Mars is only the feature, but I had to put this at the top. This song is so timeless and so nostalgic for me. It takes me back to singing with my cousins when we were little. I feel like little Tori was daydreaming about a love that felt like this song.

“Lo Arriesgo Todo” by Bruno Mars

In my opinion, one of the coolest ways a musician can honor their culture is by making a song in its language. I am a big fan of Latine artists translating their popular songs into Spanish (i.e., “Rascacielo” by Demi Lovato and “Dices” by Selena Gomez). Mars translating “Risk It All” to Spanish made this song impossibly more romantic.

“It Will Rain” by Bruno Mars

The fact that this song was made for “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1,” already makes it iconic. I love a devastating song, and this one makes me feel like I am Bella Swan crying over Edward Cullen. It easily went triple platinum in my eldest sister’s car, where I was a regular backseat passenger.

“Young Girls” by Bruno Mars

I feel like so many Bruno Mars songs put me in a mindset that I cannot relate to at all, but I live for it. With this one, my imagination turns me into the super cool, young, wild girl that he’s singing about. It also makes for a perfect getting-ready song!
