Devastated by gun violence, a mother seeks justice after loss

Freddrica Nicholas purchased the lot next to her home and dedicated it to the memory of her daughter Destiny, who was killed in a shooting in April in the Chicago Lawn neighborhood. Destiny worked for over a year at Brownstones Café in the DePaul Student Center and was currently working at Midway Airport.
