Buffalo head coach Bobby Hurley will interview with DePaul this weekend, ESPN’s Jeff Goodman reported.
Hurley, 43, is “DePaul’s top candidate,” according to Goodman. Hurley went 23-10 at Buffalo this season and his team lost to West Virginia in the second round of the NCAA tournament.
To complicate matters, however, Hurley has also agreed to a verbal deal for a contract extension with Buffalo. The extension would double Hurley’s current salary, moving him above a $550,000 per year average. Goodman, though, said that Hurley still plans to interview with DePaul this weekend. Since the contract isn’t signed yet, Hurley would be free to negotiate with DePaul.
