5 artists to see at Reaction NYE

React Presents announced a massive lineup for its highly anticipated inaugural New Year’s Eve celebration Reaction NYE. The two-night event will transform the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, Ill. into a huge dance party with two stages with more than 25 artists on Dec. 30 and Dec. 31.

Headliners Deadmau5 and Skrillex will be joined by Chance The Rapper, CHVRCHES, Robin Schulz and Purity Ring. Below are 5 artist you can’t miss at the inaugural Reaction NYE.

Chance The Rapper

Chicago’s own Chance The Rapper will help bring in the new year on the second day of Reaction NYC. His debut EP “10 day” catapulted him into hip-hop stardom and his most recent work with Donnie Trumpet & The Social Experiment album “Surf” legitimized his place as Chicago’s biggest name in hip-hop today. 

Chance The Rapper could very easily move to Los Angeles, produce songs and create chart topping songs. What he does instead is to stay true to his friends and fans and creates real music in his hometown of Chicago. “Sunday Candy” is a soulful song made by Donnie Trumpet & the Social Experiment.

MIJA

Making huge moves in her short career MIJA is one of the newest member of Skrillex’s vanity record OWSLA. Right out of the gate waves of original and collaborations have set the electrifying producer and DJ into the EDM spotlight.

This is a remix of Major Lazer’s “Be Together”. The MIJA remix speeds up the beat and melody along with Wild Belle’s vocals of the original song. This gives more time for MIJA to use her unique electric pitches adding to the fierce power of the chorus’s combined electric beat.

Run The Jewels

Hip-hop duo Run The Jewels will help close the first night of Reaction NYE. They first gained mainstream popularity with their in your face hip-hop attitude which darkened with their release of “Run the Jewels 2,” their second studio album. 

 

Deadmau5

Despite his softened controversial demeanor, Deadmau5 is one of the best in the electronic dance music producers in the business. 

A staple of EDM music, this track is one of many that is behind the genius electric mind of Deadmau5. The story telling stays true to the blended mix of lyrical meaning and upbeat electronic music that is the definition of EDM.   

Cashmere Cat

Best known for his remixes, Cashmere Cat is on his way to becoming a leading act in EDM. His biggest song to date, “Adore,” features pop star Ariana Grande. This Norwegian producer is familiar to the Chicago music electric scene and its house music roots. 

Although “Adore” is his biggest release, he has had major success with artists like Ludacris and Juicy J. The simplicity of “Adore” highlights the heavenly vocals of Grande. 

Skrillex

The unofficial face of dubstep Skrillex will end the second night of Reaction NYE. His collaboration with producer Diplo as the combined duo of Jack U released what many consider the song of the summer, “Where Are Ü Now.” 

Grammy nominated “Where Are Ü Now” has become a huge mainstream hit with its unique electronic sound while an unfamiliar stranger to today’s popular music. Lead with Bieber’s vocals the meaning behind the song is a mixture of emotion while on a party filled adrenaline rush.
