Whole Foods announced today it will buy five former Dominick’s locations in the Chicagoland area, including the 959 W. Fullerton location on DePaul’s campus.
Crain’s reported the grocery chain will also take over locations in the West Loop, Streeterville and Edgewater as well, in addition to a location in Willowbrook. This announcement comes after Whole Foods bought two other former Dominick’s locations in Evanston and Elmhurst.
There’s no word yet when the Whole Foods will open in the shuttered location.
Whole Foods joins Jewel Osco, Mariano’s and Joe Caputo’s as grocery stores buying some of the 72 closed Dominick’s locations in the Chicago area.
