Controversial speaker Milo Yiannopoulus announced an upcoming circuit of college tours as part of his “Dangerous Faggot Tour.” He returns to DePaul’s campus Sept. 20.
The DePaul College Republicans invited Yiannopoulus to campus May 25 and protests ensued, shutting down the event and spilling out into the street outside of the Student Center. Events in the days that followed, which include a noose being found on campus and issues of free speech versus hate speech on campus, caused town halls with Rev. Dennis Holtschneider, who announced his resignation June 13 effective summer 2017.
It is unclear at this time who extended another invitation to Yiannopoulus. More to come.
