It’s a recognition Blue Demon senior guard Eli Cain is no stranger to.

For the fourth time in his Blue Demon basketball career, the Big East Conference has placed Cain on their Big East Weekly Honor Roll list.

The 6-foot-6-inch New Jersey native helped lead the Blue Demons to an 83-73 victory against Cleveland State last Wednesday by scoring a game-high 26 points in 36 minutes of playing time. In a game that was hotly contested throughout, Cain took over late scoring 11 of his 26 points in the last 13 minutes of the game. This marked the 17th time in his career that he has tallied 20 or more points in a game.

In his farewell tour at DePaul, Cain is second on the Blue Demons so far this season in scoring (14.2 points per game), first in assists (5.2 assists per game), and fourth in player efficiency rating (career-high 18.8). He’s continued to shoulder point guard duties this season for the Blue Demons with a Big East-leading 3.7 assist-to-turnover ratio to show for it.

Per 40 minutes, he’s posting career highs in rebounds and assists while leading the Blue Demons with a 42.3 percent mark from 3-point land (minimum five attempts).

Cain and the Blue Demons battle the Florida A&M Rattlers out of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference tonight at 7:30.
