Senior guard Brandon Maclin was named to the Big East Honor Roll today for his performances in the Blue Demons’ victories over Creighton and Marquette.
In the two games, Maclin averaged 19.5 points, four rebounds and 3.5 assists. He finished with 21 points against Creighton and 18 points against Marquette.
Each of those games featured a strong half by Maclin.
Against Creighton, Maclin scored 19 points in the second half, helping the Blue Demons turn an eight-point halftime deficit into a one-point victory.
In the first half of the March 1 win over Marquette, Maclin scored 15 points, accounting for almost half of the Blue Demons’ points in the frame. He outscored Marquette’s 14 points in the first half.
Maclin and the Blue Demons look ahead to their two remaining Big East games on March 4 and 7 — which are both at home — before the Big East tournament March 11-14.
“Got to give it all I got, honestly,” Maclin said after the Marquette win. “… We only have three games guaranteed left in the season. So I feel like I don’t want to end this season with any regrets. Every night I go out, I’m just going to give them my all and … be able to live with the results.”
