MILWAUKEE – The men’s basketball team ended the regular season Saturday with their worst offensive game of the year, as they fell to Marquette 58-48 at the BMO Harris Bradley Center.
The Blue Demons (12-19, 6-12 Big East) shot a mere 30 percent from the field as they never found any sort of offensive rhythm. Their 48 points would be the lowest total output of the 2014-2015 season.
The game was decided in large part to the free throw disparity between the two teams.
The Golden Eagles (12-18, 4-14) would make 19-26 attempts on the afternoon, while DePaul was just 3-6.
For DePaul, Jamee Crockett had 14 points and six rebounds, while Myke Henry would chip in 12 on 5-17 shooting. Billy Garrett would continue his shooting draught with a 1-9 performance.
The Blue Demons concluded the regular season at 12-19 heading into the Big East tournament, which begins on Wednesday at Madison Square Garden in New York. The No. 7 seed Blue Demons will play No. 10 seed Creighton at 8:30 p.m.
