Lots of great shows lined up for March, hopefully we’ll get some warmer weather to go with them. Below are some of my picks. See you there!
Aesop Rock (March 3)
The New York based rapper released a long awaited new record late last year. Some great lyrics from this guy.
Cult of Youth (March 9)
They’re on the roster of one my favorite record labels, Sacred Bones, and anything released on that label cannot be bad.
The Specials (March 11)
UK ska legends. Enough said.
Django Django (March 15)
One of the most fun and dancey bands I’ve heard in a long while.
No Love For Linus (March 15)
Playing at Martyrs’ at 8 p.m.
Low (March 22)
Great rock band, personally I think they sound better live. But don’t take my word for it, see for yourself.
Morrissey (March 23)
You’ve never heard of the Smiths? Are you feeling strange negative vibes all of a sudden? That’s me judging you. Morrissey was the lead singer and he had a quite a prolific solo career after the band. Probably the must-see show this month. Just don’t eat any animal based food before the show.
Kim Gordan (March. 26)
Famous Sonic Youth bassist/vocalist will be playing a show. Recently divorced, you’ll likely see me shamelessly hitting on her at the show. You say she’s old? I say age is only a number dear reader.
Alt-J (March. 28)
These guys won the Mercury Prize, the biggest British music award there is, and they sure as hell deserved it. Check out their awesome “Memento-esque” video below.
