How much do you love your coffee? Would you crawl for it?
Jenn Chenn, “The Coffee Girl,” is a Chicago coffee aficionado. Her love affair with coffee began in college, and now her love for the drink has inspired her career. She now runs the company Caffentures, which, according to the business’s website, “hosts fun-filled caffeinated adventures that are structured to give you an introduction to the local specialty coffee scene.” The main adventures offered are coffee crawls, organizing groups of fellow coffee lovers on trips to three distinct coffee shops over the course of three hours along one of the city’s train lines.
The next and newest coffee crawl will travel along the Brown Line. Stops include Intelligentsia 1871 in the Merchandise Mart, City Grounds Coffee Bar on Dickens Ave. in Lincoln Park, and Bow Truss Coffee Roasters on North Broadway in Lakeview.
At each stop participants taste three sample-sized coffees, for a total of nine coffee experiences. At each stop the coffee professionals and baristas demonstrate their techniques and share their unique knowledge with the “crawlers.”
Tickets cost $30, and in addition to the Brown Line crawl, there are also crawls following the red and blue lines, as well as a coffee-themed scavenger hunt.
Wear your walking shoes, grab some coffee-loving friends, and caffeinate your way through the Brown Line.
