Koree Cotton has signed with DePaul men’s basketball, the team announced today. Cotton played the 2025-26 season with the UT Rio Grande Valley Vaqueros.
“We are excited to welcome Koree to Chicago and the DePaul basketball family,” head coach Chris Holtmann said in the release. “He is a versatile, two-way player who has proven himself as a capable scorer and skilled defender as well as shooting 40 percent from three last season. His ability to guard on the perimeter and impact the game in multiple ways, will allow him to contribute on both ends next season.
“Transferring up is always a transition for players but we believe he will make a strong transition to the Big East and help us continue building.”
Cotton, a 6-foot-6 junior guard, averaged 13.9 points, 5.3 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 1.2 blocks and one steal per game in the 2025-26 season. He shot 47.4% from the field and 40.3% from three. He was selected to the All-Conference first team and All-Defensive team and played in 33 games, starting in each.
