The DePaulia

Graphic designers, photographers, and writers needed!

The DePaulia is looking for graphic designers, photographers, and writers for the 2012-2013 school year. Join and get involved with DePaul’s award-winning student newspaper.

We are seeking a graphic designer to be a part of our graphics team. Work with editors to create graphics for stories and help with other design elements of the paper. Must be familiar with Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop. Email [email protected] if interested.

We are seeking photographers to take meaningful, ethical, and visually exciting photos for the paper and online. It’s a great way to showcase your skills as a photographer in print and an excellent opportunity to get professional clips for your portfolio. Email [email protected] and/or [email protected] if interested.

We are seeking writers for all sections — you do not need to be a journalism major or minor to write for The DePaulia. Freshmen, Sophomores, Juniors, Seniors, Grad Students, transfer students — everyone can submit content or become contributing writers, regardless of your major or writing background. Writing for the paper is a fantastic way to get clips for your portfolio and involvement looks great on resumes. Editors have weekly lists of story ideas and assignments, but  creativity and story ideas are encouraged. Write as often as you like about pretty much anything, as approved by the editors. Editor emails are listed below and on the staff page.

Want to get involved, but don’t know where to start? Decide which section(s) you’d like to write, take photos, and/or do graphics for and begin by emailing the corresponding editor(s).
