As DePaul University wrapped up another quarter, many students expressed their frustrations with the CTA U-Pass not being available for the winter intersession, as evident in the following video (below).

The CTA U-Pass provides students with unlimited rides on the CTA everyday, it is cost-effective to students and it increases access to areas all over Chicago. Student Affairs Department Assistant Zellencia Harris, agreed that having the CTA U-Pass over winter break would be beneficial to students, but understands that DePaul must abide by the rules.

“Typically, winter intersession courses count towards your winter enrollment, as does financial aid and the CTA U-Passes. It is not in our contractual agreement with the CTA, but I do not have the exact answer as to why they do not offer it to students for winter intercession,” said Harris.

It would be nice for DePaul administrators to address this issue and hopefully implement some kind of reduced CTA fairs for students during winter break.
