Electronica edition: Wolfgang Gartner

Wolfgang Gartner is one of the biggest names in EDM. Still, he should be bigger.

You might remember when he prefaced David Guetta’s set at North Coast last summer. Or maybe you caught him at the Congress last Halloween. Or when he hit the Mid in March. Even if you misssed him, you’ll see him at Spring Awakening here in town in later June or at Electric Forest in July. He’s an undoubtable electro force to be reckoned with.

And he keeps it coming with his newest track, “Redline.”

It’s electro at its finest, but still has the undeniable Gartner signature on it. It’s upbeat, danceable and is a generally arena-worthy anthem. Where his other big bangers like “Space Junk” and his Deadmau5 collabo “Animal Rights” are party starters, “Redline” sounds more along the lines of his title track off his last album “Illmerica.” This new one will be a show closer for sure.

How can you not love the pew-pew-pew laser zaps leading up to the first drop? “Redline” is dance-floor-ready.
