Although the event is on Monday, we cannot contain our excitement for DAB’s fall presenter: Reverend Run.

For those unfamiliar with the legend, Reverend Run is the stage name for Joseph Simmons. Simmons was a third of the groundbreaking hip-hop group Run DMC, a founder at Def Jam Records and is now practicing as an ordained Pentecostal minister. The Rev’s fame has grown in recent years thanks to an MTV reality show called ‘Run’s House,’ chronicling the lives of Simmons’ family. Run also has over two million followers on twitter (@RevRunWisdom) where he spouts optimism in 140 characters or less.

While Rev will likely give us a motivational speech instead of spitting sick rhymes, we are more than happy to get inspired. What to wear to see the Rev? Pay homage to Run by donning the illest black leather jacket you own to the event. Pair with black pants, a white tee shirt and fresh Nikes. For the ultimate hip-hop touch, pile on the gold jewelry. Chunky chains can look dated, so opt for thin layered strands and gold studded earrings for 21st century pop.
