News brief: Students robbed on quad, battery near Seton Hall

Students robbed on quad

Three individuals were pushed to the ground and robbed near the DePaul quad on the Lincoln Park campus this morning, Sept. 30, at approximately 11:30 a.m.

Three people were taken into custody by the Chicago Police Department, according to Public Safety.

Public Safety said there is no danger to students at this time. Check back for updates.

Battery near Seton Hall

A female student was the victim of a battery last night in the alley behind Seton Hall. The incident occurred at 9:20 p.m. on Sept 29.

The offender approached the student from behind and grabbed her hair, throwing her to the ground. The victim screamed for help while the offender fled the scene, according to DePaul Public Safety.

Chicago Police were called to the scene, but no additional information was available.

In a Public Safety Alert email sent out to students, Public Safety reminded students to use the escort service while in Lincoln Park at night.
