Weekend round-up: Nov. 15-17

Congrats, DePaulians! You’ve almost made it through fall quarter.   Now it’s time to power through your last and a week of finals, so you can enjoy your 6-week winter break.  Although many of us will have to spend most, if not all, of our weekend cooped up in the library studying, there’s still plenty to do this weekend when you’re in need of a study break.

Disney Lovers should make a trip to The Museum of Science and Industry and explore the Treasure of Walt Disney Archives exhibit.  The exhibit has almost 300 artifacts on display including Mary Poppins costumes, pre-Mickey Mouse Disney animation clips and theme park attractions.  Spend an afternoon experiencing all things Disney.  Tickets for admission to the museum and this exhibit cost $24.  The exhibit runs until May 4, 2014.

If you need to sing your finals stress out this weekend, grab tickets for Krewella’s concert at the Aragon Ballroom this Saturday.   Jam out to the band’s hit songs “Live for the Night” and “Alive.” Seven Lions and Candyland will be opening what’s sure to be an energy-packed show.  Tickets are still available through Stub hub, starting at $75.

If you want something more low-key to do this weekend, and you happen to be an Arrested Development fan, grab a ticket for pH Comedy Theater’s Arrested Development Trivia Night this Sunday.   If you think you know the answers to questions like “What’s Michael’s late-wife’s name?” or “Who did Will Arnett beat out for the part of Gob?”  Assemble a team and your best chicken dance to win prizes.  The event is BYOB and costs $5 per person.   All proceeds help fund pH Comedy Theater’s 2014 season.
